Ohrid & Bay of bones tour from Skopje

The driver/guide will pick you up from your hotel or any location of your preference in Skopje. From there we drive around 3 hours through the western part of Macedonia, rich with beautiful hills and mountains until we reach Ohrid. Halfway there, we will stop in Straza, for a short break, and a chance to taste the famous and unique pastry, mekica. Right after the arrival in Ohrid, we will make a short break, and start the city tour of Ohrid and visit: the Cathedral Church St. Sophia (from the 10th century, the oldest in Macedonia), the Ancient Theatre, the Tzar Samuil Fortress, the Church St. Holly Mother of God Peribleptos (with unique frescoes, built in 1295), the complex of St. Panteleimon Church and St. Clement of Ohrid (where St.Clement, the founder of the Cyrillic alphabet, was buried) and the Church of St. John the Evangelist (Kaneo). Sometime, in the middle of these visits, we will have the possibility to have lunch in a restaurant on the lakeshore or go for a swim. From the St. John Kaneo Church, we could go back to the town Center by small boats. Our last visit of the day is the Museum on water (Bay of bones), a Neolithic settlement, reconstructed in a perfect way, so we can imagine how prehistoric people lived on water, preserving themselves from the dangers of the mainland. From here, we drive back to Skopje and drop you off in any location of your preference in Skopje.
