Program
Departure from Skopje with our vehicle and our local tour guide. Driving to Bitola (about 170 km from Skopje, 2 hours and 30 minutes drive in one direction), we will admire the Macedonian landscape – canyons, vineyards, mountains, plains. First, we visit the ancient city of Heraclea Lynkestis, dating back from the time of the ancient Macedonian king Philip II of Macedon (359-336 BC), the father of Alexander III (Alexander the Great). Than we visit the city museum of Bitola and Kemal Mustafa – Ataturk's museum, the father of modern Turkey, who finished the military school in this very building. Stroll to the famous Macedonian street, Shirok Sokak. After that we will continue to Prilep (40 km from Bitola, 30 minutes driving), where we will visit the monastery of Archangel Michael, and see the frescoes of King Marko and King Volkasin, the last medieval Christian kings in Macedonia from the XIV century. Also we will visit the centre of Prilep with the old clock tower from the Ottoman period. At the end we drive back to Skopje.
